Ear Cropping and Tail Docking
Historically, tail docking was thought to prevent rabies, strengthen the back, increase the animal's speed, and prevent injuries when ratting, fighting, and baiting. Both the procedures are very painful for the animal and is a form of mutilation. Even after surgery, the animal continues to suffer as a result of the neuroma formation at the site of docking. Say NO to Dolphinariums
Dolphinariums are little more than prisons, for what are sentient marine mammals. In fact, whilst the age of dolphins in the wild is 45 years, 53 per cent of dolphins die within three months of being kept in captivity. Proposals to set up aquatic parks and dolphinarium at different places keep cropping up like, the latest being the the proposed construction for a Seaworld at Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra, an initiative by the state govt.
