2011: Launched India For Animals (IFA) Conference

We launched biennial national conference for animal activists, organisations and philanthropists for training and networking.

2012: Led a campaign to ban dolphinaria in India

We led a campaign that contributed to the historic victory where MoFE&CC recognized all cetaceans as "non-human animals" and banned use of dolphins for commercial entertainment purposes.

2013: Stopped establishment of a mega dairy in India

We stopped the proposal for establishment of India's first mega dairy in Andhra Pradesh, saving 40,000 cows in the process.

2014: Set up India’s largest vegan advocacy network

We started with 6 vegan activists in 6 cities and grew to over 1000 activists across 81 cities & have reached over 1 million people till date.

2015: Rescued 150+ circus animals to safety

We teamed up with NGOs & volunteers to rescue over 150 animals from 16 circuses across India.

2016: Launched campaign against illegal slaughter

We launched #StopSlaughterCruelty campaign & trained local activists to work with slaughterhouses to ensure basic minimum standards of living for the animals.

2017: Conducted India's largest dairy investigation

We conducted India's largest and most in-depth investigation of 500 dairies in the top 10 milk producing states & persuaded 7 state governments to introduce guidelines for better living conditions for dairy animals.

2018: Conducted a nationwide investigation of Gaushalas

We published the "Gau-gaatha" report based on our investigation of 200 gaushalas & persuaded UP govt towards welfare guidelines in cow shelters.

2019: Turned “Drunken Monkey” - a popular smoothie brand - 80% plant-based

  • We persuaded "Drunken Monkey" to introduce delicious plant-based products on their menu! Follow us for more highlights!
  • We launched a member servicing programme and provided mentorship to 500+ activists through 25 workshops conducted in 18 cities across India.
  • We were also evaluated by Animal Charity Evaluators and granted the status of "Standout Charity".

2020: Achievements & Ongoing Programmes

  • Partnered with member organisations to feed 2,00,000+ meals to dogs during the lockdown
  • Launched “Living Free” app to help citizens report illegal slaughter
  • Awarded by Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation for our work & also recipient of the Shining World Award for Compassion
  • We continue to represent animals in different courts of law, against Jallikattu, to protect street dogs, and for dairy cows
