We bring together organisations and people to secure the rights and welfare of all animals.

FIAPO is a federation of more than 200 animal protection organisations across India. We strengthen the animal protection movement in India by building capacity, sharing knowledge, enabling collaboration, and effecting change for animals.

The New Animal Laws

On 1 July 2024, the 164-year-old Indian Penal Code was replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, was replaced by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS). The New Animal Laws, a FIAPO publication, clarifies the sections of the new laws that correspond to the previous law, IPC and CrPC, to help animal rights activists and animal lovers alike to respond to crimes against animals.
