Tigress Found Dead in Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh

FIAPO Raises Alarm to Urge the Government and Forest Authorities to Take Necessary Action to Protect the Tiger Population

Following the death of a tigress in Bandhavgarh, the government is yet to take any concrete steps.

FIAPO has demanded a probe from the government to identify the cause and take necessary precautionary measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Claiming that the Government’s rescue operation presented a lackadaisical approach, FIAPO has demanded that the government should take protective measures like establishing proper guidelines for tiger safaris, reduce the pressure of the eco-tourism, protect the habitats of the big cats and also conserve the population.

With an area of 105 square kilometres, Bandhavgarh National Park is the residential place of the Royal Bengal Tigers and flourishing biodiversity. The areas affected by the fire include Panpatha, Khitoli, Tala and Manpur among the various other ranges. FIAPO urges the locals to remain vigilant and also reminded the forest officials of their responsibility to the natural regeneration of the tiger reserve premises, constant engagement with the local communities living nearby that went beyond consultations, following love for the creatures who inhabited the reserve.
